Two descriptions, ready to use.

Short48 words

PocketPetal is a plant-collecting game for iPhone and iPad. Snap a plant on any walk and it joins your collection with a rarity rolled at random, from Common to Mythic. Catches earn XP toward 100 levels, 116 badges, daily quests and streaks. Free to play, with no ads.

A few notes for writers

  • It's a game. Plant names come from image recognition and are often wrong, so please don't present PocketPetal as a way to find out what a plant is.
  • Rarity is luck. It's a random roll, not a measure of how rare a plant really is or of its conservation status.
  • One word. PocketPetal, with two capital Ps.

Long244 words

PocketPetal is a plant-collecting game that turns an ordinary walk into a treasure hunt. Point your iPhone at a plant, whether it's a street tree, a windowsill cactus or a dandelion in a sidewalk crack, and snap it. It joins your collection with your photo, a name from image recognition shown with its match percentage, and a rarity rolled at random from six tiers, Common to Mythic.

Rarity is pure luck. The odds are the same for every plant, so a dandelion can roll Mythic and a rose can roll Common. The roll says nothing about the plant itself.

Every catch earns XP toward 100 levels. Three new quests arrive each day, with bigger ones each week, and catching something every day builds a streak. There are 116 badges to earn, plus Game Center achievements and leaderboards. Players 13 and up can add friends by username and share catches with them; there's no chat and no public feed. Seasonal events add limited-time quests, starting with the Evergreen Hunt from December 11, 2026 to January 10, 2027.

PocketPetal is rated 13+ and plays well with the whole family: players under 13 play in kid mode, with social features, analytics and notifications switched off. It's free to play with 5 catches a day and no ads. Optional subscriptions, PocketPetal+ and PocketPetal Pro, raise the daily limit and add streak freezes and special quests.

PocketPetal is made by Starling Petals LLC, an independent studio in Georgia, US.
