PocketPetal is a game. Identifications are automated and often wrong — never eat or handle a plant based on what it tells you.

What is PocketPetal?

A collection game for real plants. Snap a plant you find, add it to your collection, and roll for rarity. Every catch earns XP, and you can level up, keep a daily streak, complete quests, earn badges and see what your friends are catching.

Names come from automated image recognition, which often gets plants wrong. The confidence percentage on each capture shows how sure it was. If a capture looks wrong, open it in your collection and delete it.

How does rarity work?

Rarity is a random roll made when you catch a plant. It has nothing to do with the species, how common the plant really is, or its conservation status — a dandelion can roll Mythic. The odds are the same for every plant, and your very first catch is never Common:

RarityChance
Common60%
Uncommon25%
Rare10%
Epic3.5%
Legendary1.2%
Mythic0.3%

Subscriptions

  • Restore a purchase: in the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought it with.
  • Cancel: subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PocketPetal. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Refunds: Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Keeping your collection

You can start playing without an account. Create one in the app so your collection isn't lost if you delete the app or switch phones. On a new phone, sign in with the same account to pick up where you left off.

Players under 13 play in kid mode, without an account, so their collection stays on the device it was made on. Parents: see PocketPetal for parents.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently erases your account and collection — see section 7 of the Privacy Policy for what's removed. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it first as described above.
